I skated in my first roller derby bout in Des Moines, Iowa since joining the Eastern Iowa Outlaw’s ‘B’ team in March. I wasn’t nearly as nervous as I expected to be, but I also wasn’t as ready as I should have been for my first bout. Regardless of my lack of skills, I jammed three times and didn’t end up with any injuries. Best of all? My team won in a very close match – Krushers 26, MIR 23.
